WILDCATS KEEP WINNING: Florala picks up big road wins against Freeport

The Florala Wildcats continued their strong start to the season with a sweep over Freeport (Fla.) on Tuesday night.

GIRLS

FLORALA 48,

Florala got the night started with a 48-46 Lady Wildcat win.

Meredith Parker was on fire right out of the gate as she finished the first period with seven points.

Laken Hadley had five points and Taylor Mount had three points to give the Lady Wildcats a 21-18 lead at the end of the first period.

Scoring was limited for both teams in the second period, but the Lady Wildcats were up 26-24 going into halftime.

In the third period, Freeport fought back and took a 35-34 lead into the final period.

Parker finished the night strong with eight points in the fourth to help lead the Lady Wildcats to the win.

Parker finished the game with 15 points and Hadley tacked on eight points.

BOYS

FLORALA 61,

FREEPORT 41

The Wildcats finished off the sweep with a 61-41 victory.

Antone Stone, Rashaad Coleman and Shon White opened up the game with a surge to quickly mount a Wildcat lead.

Mehki James picked up seven points in the third period, including a 5-for-8 performance from the free-throw line.

White led the Wildcats with 14 points and Coleman finished with 11 points.

Zac Reese and Stone each finished with eight points.
