Meredith’s Miracles Valentine’s Shop opened this week, offering some of its perennial holiday favorites, as well as specialty-made cookies and other treats.
Meredith’s Miracles Executive director Kiley Spears said
that several volunteers have been busy making the group’s trandemark candy sundaes. The sundaes come in several different flavors including white chocolate Lindt truffle and milk chocolate Lindt truffle for $30, Reese’s Cup, Hershey Kisses, Tootsie Roll, and Bubble Gum traditional sundaes for $20 and peppermint sundaes for $15.
“We will make a little over 200 sundaes,” Spears said. “We are limited this year, so it is going to be first come first serve.”
Some new items that Spears said they brought in are Frog Kiss mugs, Kate Spade inspired cookies, and chocolate pretzels.
She said that all of the cookies were created by Ellen Foreman of Simply GiGi’s Treats
“We have chocolate dipped strawberry shortbread cookies by Simply GiGi,” Spears said. “People will fight over those.”
Spears said that for all of the treats, they can “Build a Basket,” for customers.
“You will be able to buy individual gifts,” Spears said. “Or we can wrap a basket for you with several treats. This would be good for teachers gifts or things like that.”
For orders over $20, Spears said that they will provide free delivery to any Andalusia business or local schools for teachers.
“Customers can place an order any time,” Spears said. “We will hold it for you in the back so you can pick it up.”
Spears said that the store is Meredith’s Miracles’ second biggest fundraiser behind Cookies With Characters.
“We raised about $12,000 last year just from this store,” Spears said. “We hope to raise even more this year.”
The Meredith’s Miracles Valentine’s Day Gift Shop is located at the old Surly Mermaid building on the square and will be open Feb. 1 through Feb. 14, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m., until 5:30 p.m.
