Investigation nets 7 drug arrests

An undercover investigation by the Covington County Drug Task Force netted seven people this week.

Sheriff Blake Turman said the DTF had obtained warrants for arrests, and got more warrants when they went to make the arrests and were met with the overpowering odor of marijuana.

Charged were:

• April Mitchell, 43, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, and held on a $300,000 bond.

• Lisa Ann Jordan, 57, charged with distribution of a controlled substance, and held on a $300,000 bond.

• Zachary Walden, 38, charged with distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and held on a $313,000 bond.

• Dustin Walker, 34, charged with possession of a controlled substance, and held on a $10,000 bond.

• Ricky Walker, 40, charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of government operations, and held on a $16,000 bond. 

• Timothy Capers Sr., charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and held on a $13,000 bond.

• Theodore Taylor, 47, charged with distribution of a controlled substance, and held on $300,000 bond.

The warrants were executed at residences on Railroad Avenue in Andalusia; Deer Run Road in Gantt; and Packer Avenue in Andalusia.

The Covington County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the actual round-up, Turman said.
