Students in W.S. Harlan’s gifted class attended a flint-knapping event at Moundville Archaeological Park on Friday, March 8.

Moundville, the second-largest Mississippian-era site in the United States, has 29 mounds and a museum dedicated to the display and preservation of the site’s history; however, the annual Knap-in at Moundville especially highlights the art of crafting stone tools.  Students also tested their marksmanship with ancient weapons.
