LBWCC splits with Enterprise

The LBWCC Saints’ baseball team split games with Enterprise State on Saturday in Andalusia.

GAME ONE

ENTERPRISE 8,

LBWCC 3

In the opening game of the series, Enterprise State jumped out front early and held on for an 8-3 win.

Enterprise used three hits and a walk to help them take an early 3-0 lead.

Bryson Gandy got a two-out single for the Saints in the bottom of the first inning, but he was unable to move around to score.

Reid Whitaker singled to start the bottom of the second and then he moved to second on a single from Jackson Walker.

Ethan Wells came up with a two-out single that allowed Whitaker and Walker to come in to score.

Enterprise State responded in the top of the third inning with three runs to go up 6-2.

In the bottom of the third inning, Gandy started the frame with a four-pitch walk.

Gandy stole second and then moved to third on a ground ball.

A few pitches later, Gandy came around to score on a passed ball.

Enterprise State finished off the scoring in the top of the sixth inning.

Wells led the Saints going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

GAME TWO

LBWCC 5,

ENTERPRISE 3

In the final game of the day, the Saints used a big fourth inning to knock off Enterprise State 5-3.

Gandy started the bottom of the fourth inning with a walk and moved to third following a single and a walk.

The Saints then took the lead when Trevor Shelton doubled home a pair of runs.

P Griffin followed with a triple and then a single from Jesse Hall put the Saints up 5-0.

Enterprise added three runs in the sixth inning, but couldn’t catch the Saints.
