Yesterday, Invictus Development held a groundbreaking for Appaloosa Run, a new 56-unit apartment complex in Andalusia designed for working families.

“We are pleased to celebrate the groundbreaking of Appaloosa Run Apartments,” Andalusia mayor Earl Johnson said. “For a long time, we have known that updating housing was key in our ability to attract people to Andalusia. These apartments are designed for working families like teachers, police officers, city employees and a host of folks that need nice places to live that we just haven’t had in Andalusia.”

The complex will feature two-bedroom and three-bedroom units in three residential buildings, a clubhouse, fitness center and playground.

“We think the downtown area of Andalusia has a lot of potential,” Executive vice president of Invictus Rick Cavalieri said. “As developers, we look at those buildings with all of the character that they have and think this would be a great place to redevelop those buildings. We didn’t really know a lot about the city before we came here, but we talked to Robert [Bishop] and he convinced us that this area was a great place for us to build it.”

The apartment complex is expected to be completed in 11 months with rent ranging from $425 a month to $615 a month.

Appaloosa Run Apartment Complex will be located on Shreve Road behind Ireland Trailers.
