The Straughn Tigers (1-4, 1-2) look to keep things going in the right direction as they prepare to take on Daleville (3-2, 1-2) on Friday night in Straughn.

Friday night’s game against Daleville will be Straughn’s homecoming game.

After starting off the season 0-4, Straughn continued to battle and pulled out a 21-14 victory last week against Houston Academy.

Daleville opened up the season with a 38-28 win over Elba. They then beat Wicksburg 58-41 and then they beat Houston County 44-13.

The next week G.W. Long beat Daleville 30-22 and then last week Ariton defeated Daleville 55-40.

Through the first five games of the year, Daleville has scored 202 points and given up just 167 points.

Before winning last week’s game against Houston Academy, Straughn lost the first four games of the season.

Straughn has scored 79 points this year and have given up 161 points.

Daleville holds a 5-3 all-time record against the Tigers including a 10-8 win last year.

Daleville on 12-7 in 2017 and then won 48-37 in 2016.

The last time Straughn beat Daleville was in 2012 in the first round of the playoffs.

Straughn and Daleville are scheduled for a 7 p.m., kickoff on Friday in Straughn.
