Ensight Eyecare held its groundbreaking for its new office yesterday and Dr. James Barton is excited for more space.

“We need more space for us,” Barton said. “We were looking around and we really have a lack of professional offices to lease. Doctors are scattered around everywhere in the city. So, I talked with Hunter Herrington, Wyatt Sasser and a couple of other people and it just made a lot of sense to open this new office.”

Barton said he is looking forward to bringing in other specialist in his building.

“We looked at it and the cost of building more offices wasn’t that bad compared to building just mine,” Barton said. “So, I thought we might as well do it, that way we have more opportunities for other people and other specialties to work together in the same building. Hopefully this will attract other specialties to Andalusia so people don’t have to travel as much.”

Space is the main issue for Barton deciding the move.

“It’s to the point where we have to look at if we can fit another employee in the building if we want to hire another one,” Barton said. “We would love to even enough space to get around because we are literally falling over each other in our office now.”

Barton hopes to be in the new office located right next to Splash Hopper in the middle of next year.

“We were hoping to be in it by the end of the year,” Barton said. “But the logistics of it weren’t possible. We had a few delays with different stuff, but we are hoping to be in it by the middle of next year.”
