The Florala High School Junior High basketball boys and girls teams swept the Fleeta Junior High School Falcons in junior high basketball action last night.

Girl’s game:

Florala – 18

Fleeta – 13

The Lady Wildcats started off strong going up 6-0 in the first quarter with layups from eighth-grader Kyndra Anthony.

The Falcons cut the lead to 6-3 at the end of the first period when Summer Killough hit a three-pointer.

The Lady Wildcats started strong in the second period with two layups and a steal from Anthony and a rebound and layup from Arian Cobb to increase the Lady Wildcat lead 12-3.

With 30 seconds left in the half, Killough hit another three-pointer to cut the Wildcat lead down to 12-6.

Aubrey Morrow started the second half off for the Falcons to cut the score down 12-8.

Both defenses showed out in the third period with only two shots scored to keep it at 14-8.

The Lady Falcons started a come back in the fourth period when Savage Jowers got fouled after making a layup. After making the free throw, Fleeta was only down by three.

With 5:02 left in the game, Anthony was fouled and sank a free throw, but Shaylee Harrison answered for the Falcons with a jump shot to make it 15-13.

Anthony scored three more points for the Lady Wildcats to finish the game 18-13.

Anthony led the scoring effort for the Lady Wildcats with 14 points.

Boy’s game:

Florala – 54

Fleeta – 3

The Florala Wildcats managed to hold the Fleeta Falcons to only one basket the entire game last night in their 54-3 victory.

The Wildcats started strong going up 22-0.

Malachi McCarty had Fleeta’s only basket of the night when he hit a three pointer with 2:45 left in the half.

Baskets from Jaden Seago Rayshon Coleman, Christopher Straughn, Cameron Ansley and Jonathon Neal in the third quarter increased the Wildcat lead.

Seago led the scoring effort for the Wildcats with 11 points.

Colman came in second with 10 points and Neal came in third with 8 points.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 6-1.
