Andalusia’s McDonald’s is under going renovations to its dining area.

Eddie Byrd, director of marketing and community outreach for Murphy Family Restaurants, said that the restaurant is getting a new look and kiosks.

“The look that you guys are going to have is a little different,” he said. “It’s going to be chic and industrial, with weather wood and paneling. It’s new and hip, but old meets new.  The walls have iron mesh and we have some copper looking walls as well.”

Byrd said there would be a big communal table so that people can all congregate at a larger table.

Byrd said the kiosks will arrive a little later, but the store will reopen with a soft opening on day next week. That day is not set in stone yet.

“We are hiring a person to help with the kiosk,” he said. “It won’t take away any jobs. We are hiring another person to just help the people who want to use it. You don’t have to use it. We will still have cashiers.”

Byrd said those paying with cash will have to get in line.

Grand opening events are planning for Feb. 11, Feb. 13 and Feb. 15.

On Feb. 11, Byrd said it will include a morning with senior citizens. He said there is a faithful base of seniors who frequent the establishment.

Feb. 13 will be family night, with more details announced soon.

Feb. 15 there will be a lunch event.

“We will have specials that week on food items and Hamburglar and Grimace will be there.”
