Four locals were arrested on drug charges after an exorbitant amount of methamphetamine and some spice was found at a home in Opp Tuesday.

Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman released a press Tuesday night saying that just before noon, OPD, along with the Drug Task Force, was serving a warrant for domestic violence in the Childre Trailer Park off Barnes Street in Opp.

“During arrest, Letteron Brannon and Reginald Thompson were discovered to have 263 grams of Methamphetamine in their possession,” Turman said. “A search warrant revealed more drugs (63 more grams of meth, total 326 grams, and spice) and some stolen property at Brannon’s residence.”

Both were charged with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brannon is being held on a $503,000 bond plus two parole violations with no bond.

Thompson was released to AA Alabama Bond Company on a $503,000 bond. The recovered property is being investigated to locate owners. Also, during the arrest, Tony Ray Starling and Jason Grady Lawson were discovered to allegedly be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Both Starling and Lawson are being held on $13,000 bond.

“These men were found in possession of these dangerous drugs,” Turman said. “ I commend the officers involved in the arrest. These men and women work well together no matter the color of their uniform. The Drug Task Force, the Covington County Sheriff’s Department, the Opp Police Department, and ALEA were all involved in its execution. Special thanks to the CCSD’s canine Bella for aiding in the search. We got a long row to hoe, but we will not stop cleaning up our community.
