Local basketball stars, coach make North/South All-Star teams

Rashaad Coleman – Florala High School

Florala High School junior Rashaad Coleman made the 2020 South All-Star basketball team.

Coleman finished the season with 671 points, 233 rebounds, 121 assists, 9 double-doubles, 1 triple-double and averaged 23.1 points per game.

20 games out of the 27 that the Wildcats played, Coleman finished with 20 points or more. Coleman had 8 games with 30 points or more and had a career-high of 38 points against Paxton High School.

Out of 77 games in his career, Coleman has totaled 1,632 points.

Troy Turman – Florala High School head coach

Florala High School head basketball coach Troy Turman was recently named a coach of the South All-Star Team

In the 2020 season, Turman reached the 200 win mark in his career and led the Wildcats to a 21-5 overall record and a 7-1 region record.

The Wildcats reached the Round of 16 in the 2020 AHSAA State Playoffs.

Allie Kelley – Straughn High School

Straughn High School junior Allie Kelley made the South All-Star team.

Kelley scored 346 points, had 235 rebounds and had 42 assists this season. She averaged 14.1 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game.

Kelley also was named to the 2020 Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Second Team All-State team.

The Lady Tigers ended their season with a 21-6 overall record and a 4-2 region record.
