TWO AHS FOOTBALL STARS SIGN TO COMPETE AT THE NEXT LEVEL

Andalusia High School seniors Elijah McClain and Cameron Morrissette both signed to play college football with Campbellsville University in Kentucky.
“They just make me feel at home,” Morrissette said. “With all of this going on with COVID-19, I wasn’t able to visit the campus, but the coaches called me and checked up on me every day and made me feel at home.”
Morrissette transferred from Monroe County High School his junior year and had to sit out that entire year.
“I don’t regret anything,” Morrissette said. “I risked not playing my junior year and I wouldn’t change it at all. This is a memory I will never forget.”
Morrissette said he is looking forward to getting his degree at Campbellsville University the most.
McClain said he decided on Campbellsville because of the players and coaches.
“They really made it feel like home,” McClain said. “I think that it is going to be a really good fit for me when I get there.”
One big memory McClain has of Andalusia football is when the Bulldogs took down UMS Wright in the regular season.
“It was one of the best memories ever, just seeing everybody rush the field,” McClain said. “It was a really good feeling. Looking back, I think about the locker room memories the most. Just being in the locker room with my friends.”
McClain said he is also looking forward to getting his business degree from Campbellsville University the most.
AHS head football coach Trent Taylor said Campbellsville is getting a steal with these two players.
“They are not only getting two very very good football players but two fine young men,” Taylor said. “They will be essential to the football team not only with their athletic drive but also what they will bring character-wise. I think they are going to do really well up there and I know that Campbellsville is really excited to have both of them.”
