99 NEW CASES IN COVID-19 IN COVINGTON COUNTY IN LAST 14 DAYS

A spike in cases of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Covington County, bringing the total to 180 with 99 new cases in the last 14 days.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, there have been 1,732 total tested for COVID-19 in Covington County and 557 tested within the last 14 days.

In the state, there are 26,524 confirmed cases, with 305,036 total tested and in the last 14 days, there have been 7,986 new cases.

13,508 cases statewide have recovered from the virus.

Reported deaths in the state are up to 779.

Total hospitalizations statewide since March 13, are 2,315.

Of the positive cases in the state, 682 are in the intensive care unit, 399 are on a ventilator, 2,780 are healthcare workers, 1,226 are long-term care employees and 2,051 are long-term care residents.

In the surrounding counties, Butler County has 548 confirmed cases with 129 new cases in the past 14 days and 25 deaths, Crenshaw County has 112 confirmed cases with 34 new cases in the past 14 days and 3 deaths, Conecuh County has 107 confirmed cases with 66 new cases in the past 14 days and one death, Coffee County has 296 confirmed cases with 57 new cases in the past 14 days and one death, and Geneva County has 48 confirmed cases with four in the past 14 days.
