A new business will be opening its doors in Andalusia next week. Farmers Home Furniture will be opening on August 4 and will be managed by Andalusia native Bill Mayhall. The store is one of many across the country and Mayhall is excited to introduce a new branch to his hometown.

Growth is one of the main goals of the company, according to Mayhall.

“The company is just trying to grow. It’s an employee-owned company. We’re trying to reach out and spread the business,” Mayhall said.

Mayhall plans to open the store doors next week.

“We’re hoping to do a soft opening on August 4th and a grand opening in late October or early November,” Mayhall said.

Farmers Home Furniture has a variety of products for inside and outside of the home.

“We have a variety of different things,” Mayhall said. “We have furniture, appliances, TVs, lawnmowers, utility trailers, zero turns, riding mowers and pushing mowers.”

Despite the ongoing pandemic, Mayhall is confident that the business will be off to a great start.

“We’re very positive, very optimistic about it,” Mayhall said. “Right now the furniture business is doing great so we’re ready to get started. We’re just glad to be in Andalusia. It’s a great town. I’ve lived here all my life, so I can’t wait to get started with the community.”

Farmers Home Furniture is located at 212 E 3 Notch St, Andalusia, AL 36420 and can be reached at 334-222-3000. Store hours are 9 a.m., until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m., until 5 p.m., on Saturday beginning August 4.
