Mizell Memorial Hospital on Tuesday announces that it will restructure to meet the growing demands and future challenges it faces while serving the community to meet its health care needs.

Hospital Board Chairman Jeff Worley said in a press release that the board has evaluated ways to assist the hospital in effectively addressing the complex financial management responsibilities of the hospital, as well as overseeing the demanding clinical, patient service and market requirements of its hospital operations.

The board has decided to divide the role of chief executive office and chief financial officers.

Currently, the dual role is held by Jana Wyatt, a move the board had intended to keep temporary.

Wyatt will continue to serve the hospital as CFO.

She has a vast education and knowledge of health care finance.

Now, the hospital board and Alliant Management Services will conduct a search for Chief Executive Officer that can address the many responsibilities of managing a hospital.

Worley said, “Despite these very demanding circumstances, Jana Wyatt has done an outstanding job. We cannot thank her enough for her dedication and leadership through these tough times. She has gone above and beyond her call of duty.”

Worley said he and the board are confident that the change will help the hospital continue to make progress and add the resources needed to keep the hospital on the road of continuous improvement and position it to address the future needs of the community.

Wyatt will continue her dual role until a CEO is selected.
