ALL PAVED COUNTY ROADS OPEN EXCEPT FOR A SELECT FEW

Following assessments this morning by county road crews, Covington County engineer Lynn Ralls stated that all county paved roads are now open for travel except for a select few.

All Covington County roads were declared Impassable on September 16 by this office, during the occurrence of Hurricane Sally, an event that brought in excess of 15 inches of rainfall over two days to portions of our county.

Following assessments this morning by County Road Crews, all Covington County paved roads are now open for travel, except for the following roads:

  • Antioch Rd (from Good News Chapel Rd to Rose Hill Rd CR 77)
  • Canoe Rd
  • Loango Rd (CR 7)
  • Prestwood Bridge Rd (CR 58)
  • County Rd 4
  • Rockhole Bridge Rd
  • Smyrna Rd (CR 10)

 

The following unpaved roads are still impassable until further notice:

 

“Please proceed on all county roads with caution, even on those that are not listed as ‘impassable,’” Ralls said. “If you have concern about the condition of any county road, please contact our offices at 334-428-2620 to report your concern.”
