The Oaks Family RV Park and Campground is hosting a family-friendly Halloween event on Oct. 30 and 31. The two-day event will consist of live music, fall festivities, and trick-or-treating at the campground. Catherine Wofford explained that The Oaks is very excited for a weekend filled with festivities and family fun.

On Fri., Oct. 30, there will be live music from band Southwind. The live music will continue onto Saturday as Today’s Yesterday Band takes the stage.

“On Saturday, Oct. 31, there will be live music as well as a slew of fall festival activities, including a dunk booth, and trick-or-treating from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.,” Wofford said. “There is a $5.00 admission fee and children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children 12 and under get in free.”

There will be a costume contest with prizes ranging from a free three-night stay in one of The Oaks’s cabins to a $100 prize. “Contests include a costume contest with the best-dressed adult (18+) winning a 3-night stay in a cabin at The Oaks Campground, and the child winner (18-) winning $100,” Wofford said. “There will also be a prize of a 3-night stay to the best-decorated campsite, this contest is only applicable to campers with reservations at The Oaks.”

Owner Jason Smith encourages everyone to stop by and enjoy what The Oaks has to offer during the Halloween weekend. “Since my wife Dawn and I opened the campground last December, we’ve been excited about the possibilities of a Halloween party,” Smith said. “The Oaks family has put in a lot of hours and hard work, and we’re excited to spend Halloween with your family.”
