Mr. Johnny Edward “Ed” Watson, 81, of Geneva, passed away peacefully holding his daughters hands on Sunday February 21, 2021

A private graveside service for family and close friends will be at 3:30 PM Wednesday February 24th at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Ross officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.  No formal visitation is scheduled.

He was born in Gantt, Alabama and later lived in Red Level before moving to Andalusia.  While in Andalusia he worked in the meat department at the Piggly Wiggly for many years and later continued his career with Benson Wholesale Company/Fleming Foods in Geneva, Alabama, where he made many lifelong friends.

Mr. Watson is survived by one sister, Katie Lee Maddox of Andalusia; daughters, Kim (Jeff) Mauldin and Kathy (Tim) Crews of Dothan, AL; seven grandchildren, John (Andreia) Mauldin, Kecia (Robert) Miller of Dothan, Dustin Frank Thompson and Katy (Shane) Davis of Geneva, AL, Blake (Alicia) Crews of Camphill, PA, Whitney (Nick) Craig of Newnan, GA, Dale (Becca) Crews of Valdosta, GA, a lifelong special friend, O’Neal Sellers of Bonifay, FL.  Mr. Watson was blessed with 19 beautiful great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Watson is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Vivian Jeanette Gomillion Watson; his parents, J.C. and Arner Watson; siblings, Frances Knox, Oweta McPherson, and Charles Alvin Watson; and his wife of 10 years, Eloise Morris Watson.
