The Andalusia Public Library kicked off its Summer Reading Program Thursday with a special show featuring Dr. Magical Balloons at Springdale. Children enjoyed watching Dr. Magical Balloons create an assortment of animals and other shapes, and some of them even got in on the act. APL’s Summer Reading program will feature fun activities at Springdale on June 10 and 24, at 3 p.m. There will also be a Preschool Story Time at the library on Fridays, June 4-11, at 10:30 a.m. Activities for teenagers will be held on Tuesdays, June 8-22, at 2:30 p.m. For more information about Summer Reading, contact APL Children’s Librarian Caryl Lee Ray at 334-222-6612.
