What do you get when you combine the blazing summer heat with some of music’s newest sensations? It’s the return of the City of Andalusia’s July Jamz!

Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce Director of Members Services Maggie Holmes said this year’s July Jamz will feature a variety of entertainment throughout the month of July.

“July Jamz is a concert series Andalusia has every Thursday in July. We have two bands come out every night and perform. We have a foam machine for the kids and vendors who come out to provide food. We shoot fireworks, and it makes for great family time,” Holmes said.

Beginning July 1, gates open at 5:30 p.m. with music beginning at 6 p.m. at Springdale Estate. The event will be held through the end of July.

“Everybody is welcome to bring their own chairs. We want people to bring whatever they need to camp out and listen to great music,” she said.

There will be a variety of music selections that includes an opener and headliner each night.

Openers for the 2021 lineup include: July 1, Conner Sowards; July 8, Jeremiah Cheshire; July 15, Preston Hoffman Band; July 22, Jamal Curry; and July 29, Muddy Waters.

Headliners include: July 1, Kenney Heard and Issues; July 8, Five Runs; July 15, Martin McDaniel; July 22, The Park Band; and July 29, Sweet Young’uns.

The chamber established July Jamz several years ago as a way to provide entertainment in downtown Andalusia.

“The city needed something fun to do during the summer and July Jamz has provided that as well as promoting our businesses and community,” Holmes said.
