A suspect wanted in a weekend shooting incident in Geneva County was found and arrested in Florala.

The Geneva County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.  The shooting occurred on Gopher Road off of County Road 4 west of Samson, very close to the Covington County line, according to officials.

The victim, Alberto Guerra Jr., 29, of Samson was pronounced dead by Geneva County Coroner Donny Adkison.

After interviewing witnesses, the Covington County Sheriff’s Office assisted in arresting David Allen Morris, 26, of Florala. He was taken into custody at a home in Florala.
