Inaugural LBWCC home volleyball match postponed

The first home volleyball match in the history of LBW Community College scheduled for today has been postponed. A make-up date will be announced at a later date.

LBWCC (1-3) made a trip to South Carolina for a tournament at Spartanburg Methodist to begin their inaugural season. The Saints fell 3-0 (12-25, 18-25, 15-25) to the host squad in their first-ever match on Thursday, August 19. LBWCC met Spartanburg Methodist again the following day and won the second set before coming up short 3-1 (11-25, 25-17, 13-25, 12-25).

Brianna Wilson led the charge with a combined 13 kills and 2 blocks against Spartanburg Methodist, while Jaden Williams added 12 kills and 4 aces. Maddie Rasmussen added 28 assists, and Maggie Hayes picked up 24 digs.

The first win in the program’s history came with a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 28-26, 25-21) over USC Lancaster Friday, August 20. In the win, the Saints tallied 24 kills, 6 aces, 24 assists, and 38 digs as a team.

LBWCC went to Bay Minette Wednesday, August 25 but was swept 3-0 (12-25, 10-25, 22-25) by Coastal Alabama-South Community College.

The Saints will return to action on September 1 when they travel to Bishop State.
