The Little Caesars Love Kitchen stopped in Andalusia and served free pizza to the public Tuesday.

The pizza giveaway is aimed at bringing awareness to hunger issues that exist across the nation.

“Little Caesars goes all around the country and does the love kitchens where they give out free pizza. They are trying to help starvation across the nation, and this is something we do once a year here in Andalusia. We are a family-owned franchise here locally,” said Skip Enzor, owner of the local Little Caesars.

Enzor and his mother Lori have participated in this event locally for the last three years.

“Little Caesars arranges the event and takes care of everything at a corporate level,” he said.

They estimated serving approximately 300 people after making 80 pizzas.

He added that it means everything to have the opportunity of serving the general public.

“The community is what we serve at Little Caesars, and they take care of us by keeping us in business. We have the best employees that come out and work for us. All we can do is give back a little bit by handing out some pizzas to some people who need them.”

As in the past few years, this year’s event was held at the Christian Service Center. “We like to come out here because this is the place you want to be if you want to help people,” Enzor said.

South Central Alabama Mental Health Center also contributed to the event by donating free cases of bottled water.

Christian Service Center Coordinator Katie Cooper was grateful to be a part of the event.

“This is a great cause and the perfect place to help those in need. Here at the Christian Service Center, we help anyone in need in the Andalusia area. People can come to get help with food, clothing, and furniture and purchase items at low prices. We also have used items and take any donations whether they’re lightly used or from the community and either resell them or give those away,” Cooper said.
