A visitation for Faye Sloan Wang will be held Monday, September 27, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Kilgroe Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. and the Interment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Trussville, Alabama. Mrs. Wang passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at St. Vincent’s St. Clair Medical after a brief illness.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Arvy Lee Wang; her parents, Esther Berry Sloan and Clarence Robins Sloan of Gardendale; a daughter Sandra Carol Wang; and sister, Sandra Sloan Williams. Survivors include her sons, Richard E. Wang and David R. Wang; and her nephews.

She was a 1956 graduate of Phillips High School in Birmingham. For more than 35 years, she served as the pianist and organist for the First Baptist Church of Florala, Alabama, and participated in various church services too numerous to count. Mrs. Wang was a retired homemaker, loving mother, and also worked for several years in the civil service at Eglin AFB in Northwest Florida. More recently, Mrs. Wang attended First Baptist Church of Pell City and was a member of the Douglas Sunday School Class.
