Gloria “Faye” Bannier, 71, of Dozier Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Andalusia Health hospital with her husband at her side.

Born September 7, 1949, in Brantley, Alabama, Faye was the daughter of the late Sophie Eleanor Norris Wells and Issac Lee Wells. Faye is the youngest of three along with brother Foster and sister Susan.

Faye lost her mother four hours after her birth and was raised by her late maternal grandparents, Martha Matilda Holloway Norris and Arnie Foster Norris.

She attended W.S. Harlan Elementary and Florala High School where she played softball and was the first female Class President. She also played league ball in her years after high school and attended Lurleen B Wallace Community College (LBW) in Andalusia.

Faye went on to sell mobile homes in the Baldwin County area and for most of her career working for Dr. Curtis L Barrett Jr. in Daphne, Alabama as Office Administrator for almost 22 years.

Faye was a beautiful and loving person. She had a huge heart and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be terribly missed by so many and left us way too early in her life.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Richard Bannier.

She leaves behind her brother Foster (Greta) Wells, sister Susan (Johnny) Dewrell along with her daughter Brandy Wells (Preston).

Others missing her are sister-in-law Jeanne Saletta and step-children Deb Knoener (Steve) (WI), Scott Bannier (Mary), Rene Apps (Marc), and Sherly Holzwart (Steve).

The love of her life were her grandchildren: Christopher Wells, Rae Ann Gartman, Craig (Lana) Knoener, Shannon (Mike) Wynveen, Kimberly (Adam) Roethel, Jeremy Bannier, Tyler (Deanna) Apps, Jake (Jess) Holzwart, and Janae (Alex) Jacob.

She has 11 great-grandchildren and leaves behind many other precious relatives, friends, and four-legged friends.

Sadly, she is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Jeffrey (Vicki) Gartman, her paternal grandparents Clara Mayberry Wells and Dennis Mitchell Wells, along with brother-in-law Joe Bannier.

Faye was an anatomical donor to the University of Southern Alabama-Mobile. She will be with them for 1.5 years then cremated and a service held at the University, thereafter. The final resting will be with her husband at Enon and Sheboygan Falls cemeteries.
