Opp remains the county’s lone ranked team after rising two spots in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association football rankings released Wednesday.

The Bobcats are currently riding a five-game winning streak. Opp, which checked in at number five in the Class 3A poll, hosts, Wicksburg in the final home game of the regular season Friday night. Although the Panthers are not ranked, they are listed among teams receiving votes in the poll. With both teams undefeated in region play, this game will prove to be a critical one for both sides.

In Class 5A, Andalusia is the only other team represented and is just outside the top 10. The Bulldogs welcome Crestview in a non-region game Friday night as AHS Head Coach Trent Taylor seeks his 250th career win.
