Billy W. Taylor,  82, of Opp, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, after a long illness. Billy was born August 22, 1939, in Andalusia.

Mr. Taylor started his career with Alatex in Andalusia and continued his development by serving in the United States Army. He then moved on to run his own transportation services company as owner, operator of 18 wheelers for 33 years. He then settled into retirement back in the community where he was born and raised.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Sasser Taylor, and four children: Rhonda (Bill) Tsukalas of Winter Springs Florida, Donna (Keith) Wey of Palm Coast Florida, Denita (Steve) Marcum of Opp, Robert D. (Liz) of Madison, Alabama; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, William, Chase, Jenna, Brielle, Dalton, Christina, Sarah, Zachary, and Kaitlyn; nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents Albert C. and Ethel Taylor, and brother Ray Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m.,  from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Oakey Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday at Foreman Funeral Home. Dr. Joe Johnson will officiate the service.
