The Red Level cheerleaders have teamed up with Golden Rule BBQ and are calling on the public for help with a joint fundraising effort.

“Our school has partnered with Golden Rule on other fundraisers, and it has always been a very profitable venture. I was looking for a way to raise money for cheerleaders while helping a local business at the same time. Golden Rule has always supported our school in any way they could help. The owners and staff are polite and courteous,” Red Level Cheerleading Sponsor Dawn Kelley said.

She added the money raised would go towards the purchase of a new paint kit and paint boards to put paper on. “These materials will be used to create signs for football, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, track, band, and Homecoming Week.”

According to Kelley, the current kit is in a sad state and has been used for several years. “The brushes (wicks) are frayed and will not create smooth lines. Some of the current paint has dried up and cannot be used,” she said. “Cheerleaders love to be creative with their signs, and at this point with our current paint kit, that is just not possible.”

Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased through Kelley or any Red Level School varsity or JV cheerleader. Tickets may be used for one of two options: a BBQ pork sandwich with one side and a drink or a bowl of Brunswick stew with a grilled cheese sandwich and a drink. “You must have your ticket with you to redeem your meal,” Kelley said.

She said tickets would be sold until Wednesday, Dec. 8, and they would be given to the cheerleaders for delivery no later than Dec. 15. “These would make great Christmas gifts.”
