CCSO to hold firearms class for women

The Covington County Sheriff’s Department will hold a firearms instruction course for women aged 19 and above Saturday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m.

The class will be held at the Covington County Sheriff’s Department Firing Range located on the east side of Alabama Highway 55, just north of mile marker 35 in Red Level. The class is open to women and is limited to 24 participants. There is no cost to attend.

Individuals who would like to attend the class must pre-register by calling the sheriff’s department at 334-428-2641 or 334-428-2662.

“All participants will need to provide a suitable handgun and will be required to bring a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition with them to the range the day of the class. Eye and ear protection will be provided. All participants must be a minimum of 19 years old,” Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman said.
