A single-vehicle crash in Coffee County on Thursday claimed the life of an Opp man.

Christopher Wayne Stevens, 47, was killed when the 2006 Honda Civic he was driving left the roadway and overturned. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Stevens was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Alabama 189 near the 10-mile marker, approximately 5 miles south of the Elba city limits.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
