Pharoah (Buddy) Silcox, Jr. was born on March 1, 1934, in Ashford, Alabama. He passed away on March 14, 2022, just days after his 88th birthday.

He is preceded in death by his father Pharoah Silcox, Sr; his mother, Eunice Learned; wife, Eugenia Silcox; daughter Cindy Silcox; sisters Lucy Russ and Patricia Cooper; and niece Sandra Wallace.

He is survived by his children Allison Buchanan and Chip Henry; sister Jane Henderson, granddaughter Magan Jean Silcox Douglas; three great-grandchildren; one nephew; and five nieces.

He lived a long, loving, fun, fulfilling, and interesting life. He was a veteran of the United States Naval Service and served on the USS Iowa Battleship during the Korean War. After his service, he worked at places that he excelled, always hard working no matter the task. He met and married a beautiful woman, Eugenia, and started a family. He became a successful entrepreneur with his family business Silcox Hardware in Apopka, Florida. Years later, he expanded to Silcox Wholesale Nursery Supply in Sorrento, Florida.

His passions in life were health and fitness, his beloved animals, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was strong willed, strict, generous, respectful, compassionate, and he believed in God. He was a jokester as well. When he got a laugh, he would tell the same joke three more times just to see you keep laughing. He loved his family and was present at his Fleming Family Reunion for decades. Lots of good times, good food, and hilarious stories. He is loved and will be missed. May he rest in peace.
