The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce presented Andalusia Manor with its top prize for April’s Clean and Green Initiative.
The program was coordinated as part of the Clean Up Covington County Litter Round Up.
Chamber officials surprised the staff at Andalusia Manor with the award.
“We thank Andalusia Manor for all they’ve done, and continue to do, to keep our part of the world beautiful and litter free. They went above and beyond for this initiative,” said Chamber Director Laura Wells.
The 2022 Clean and Green Initiative was a huge success, according to Wells. Chamber business members collected over 100 bags of trash during the event.
“Everyone exceeded our expectations. We were blown away,” Wells said. “We are proud of our chamber membership and what we were able to accomplish for the betterment of our community. Teamwork really does make the dream work!”
The effort led to other benefits for participants. ‘The businesses that participated in the competition told us it was a great team-building experience. We see this becoming a new favorite tradition for our chamber,” she said.
Sponsoring businesses included: Andalusia Manor, Andalusia Health, LBWCC, CDG, Inc., CCB Bank, and PowerSouth.
“We wish to thank all of our Clean and Green sponsors. With their support we were able to order 500 reusable shopping bags and those are available at the chamber, city hall, and at the sponsors’ business locations,” Wells said.
