The Andalusia City School System’s Board of Education held a meeting Monday night to approve personnel matters.

The board approved a total of 10 resignations, including Karen Piland, cafeteria worker at Andalusia Elementary School; Theresa Wade, special education teacher at AES; Jamie Cooper, paraprofessional at AES; Kayla Craig, special education teacher at AES; Cameron Hamby, paraprofessional at AES; Ibeth Martinez, paraprofessional at AES; Kimberly Craig, English teacher at Andalusia Junior High School; Brianna Warren, paraprofessional at AJHS; Nicole Jackson, math teacher at AJHS; and Taylor Carter, nurse at Andalusia High School.

The board also approved the retirement of fourth-grade teacher Tammy McKinney.

Status changes for personnel approved included: Marie Smyly is moving from art teacher at AJHS to the same position at AHS; English teacher Rita Nearor is moving from AHS to AJHS; Holley Wingard is moving from the position of AHS special education teacher to AJHS math teacher; special education teacher Beth Treadwell is moving from the ACS office to AHS; Vivian Willis is moving from special education teacher at the Life Center to AHS.

Teacher tenure approvals included: Loran Rigdon, third grade teacher at AES; Brianna Rudolph, physical education teacher at AES; David Kirkland, social studies teachera at AJHS; Vivian Willis, special education teacher at AHS; and Holley Wingard, special education teacher at AHS.

New hires for the school system included: Kevin Madden, social studies teacher at AHS; Kirsten McCown, art teacher at AJHS; Mallory Moore, secondary math at AHS; and Summer Reynolds, secondary English teacher at AHS.
