Ms. Beth Henriette Padgett of Eunice, Louisianna, formerly of Covington County, passed away June 5 at Ochsner University Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 3 p.m.,  at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday at Keahey Funeral Home.

Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Lane Eugene Pinion (Grace) of the Loango community; brother, James Hollingshad  (Vennita) of Alaska; sisters, Laurel Chambers of Iowa and Linda Bianchi of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Hillis of Arkansas, Billie Hillis of Texas, Angi Hollis (Tim) of Texas, Brandy Rachel of Texas, and Hunter Walker of Andalusia; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lane Bruinsma and Pearl Wesselink Bruinsma; a son, Michael Dean Prins, who passed in 1986; and a daughter, Heather Lois Pinion, who passed in 1994.

Ms. Padgett led a full life; she cherished her children and showered them with love and devotion. She loved her cats and would never let an animal go hungry or uncared for; she loved them all. She was employed in various fields and had a wide variety of skills and interests. She worked as an editor at a publishing company; a co-terminal manager at a trucking company, a truck driver, a legal secretary at several lawyers offices around the Andalusia area, an x-ray transcriptionist, she sold Avon and had many other occupations as well. She loved variety and approached all situations with a positive can-do attitude. After she retired she still stayed busy knitting and crocheting as a side project. She has often sang in church choirs and had a love of music. She loved reading and playing games, working in the yard and bicycling around town. She was a blessing and a light in the world to all of her family and friends and she will be forever loved and missed by all those who came to know her. Those who know her can rejoice in the fact that she is now in heaven with her children who she sorely missed and whose memory she cherished each and everyday.
