After operating her business online, Renee Wells achieved one of her lifelong dreams with the launch of her own storefront in Andalusia called Rise Up Boutique and Gifts.

“It’s an opportunity to better myself and to be a part of our little town growing for the people who live here. I have always wanted to own my own business and have had success online and in The Classic Cuts. We needed somewhere in our town to shop, so I decided to open Rise Up Boutique and Gifts. The size of the town and the fact there was a need for my business make Andalusia a great fit for my business,” Wells said.

She started her business on Facebook and had merchandise in The Classic Cuts for about four years before opening her store on May 25.

“I offer children’s, women’s and men’s clothing, jewelry, and accessories. I sell Cardin McCoy t-shirts and shoes for the children among other brands. I have Old South, Topsail, Flyway, and a few other brands for men. I offer several different brands for the ladies. I hope to be successful and grow my business and add new brands, shoes, and more in the future.”

Wells stated that she offers a wide assortment of clothing and accessories at her boutique. “I try to offer different brands and styles than other boutiques in our town, so we can all be successful. Good customer service is the most important way to measure success as well as having happy customers.”

She added that her daughter-in-law came up with her business name.

“I really enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them. Check us out on Facebook at Rise Up Boutique. I post new arrivals and things we have in stock on there. We are doing a giveaway for the month of June. Whatever you spend up to $75, you will be entered into a drawing that I will draw at the end of June. You will receive a store credit for that amount in the month of July. If you spend $75 or more, you will be entered for a $75 credit, and anything else will be for the amount you spent,” she said.

She is married to her husband David Wells with two sons and daughters-in-law, Morgan and Julie Wells of McKenzie and John and PJ Wells of Red Level. She also has five grandchildren: Genesis, Jamie, Mary Jo, Roman, and Ellie.

Rise Up Boutique and Gifts is located at 1516 East Three Notch Street, Unit B in Andalusia. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
