The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing to tee off its annual golf tournament.

The Chamber Classic Golf Tournament will be held Tuesday, August 23, with tee-off times scheduled for 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Andalusia Country Club.

The flighted three-man best-ball scramble event will feature several prizes, including $300 for the first-place team, $150 for second place, and $75 for the closest to the pin shot. There will also be a putting contest for a chance to win a two-person trip to the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. Participants will also be allowed to purchase chances to win a $1,000 prize in the Kubota Golf Ball Drop. J.M. Jackson Chevrolet and Buick is sponsoring a hole-in-one giveaway.

“The Chamber Golf Classic is our one and only fundraiser we do all year,” said AACC Director Laura Wells. “All the funds raised go directly back into the community through our programs and events. Our members look forward to this fun day of golf and networking, and they enjoy being outside on our beautiful Andalusia Country Club golf course. The tournament also gives our membership the opportunity to get to know our board members and the chamber staff a little more. There’s always great food, prizes, and giveaways. To top it all off someone will walk away with a $1,000 cash prize from our Golf Ball Drop Contest!”

The deadline for team entry is Thursday, August 18. Each entrant will receive 18 holes of golf, cart, catered lunch, a Chamber Classic welcome bag, and an invitation to the chamber’s awards reception.

Local businesses can join the chamber through a variety of sponsorship opportunities.
