The Andalusia Ballet Association will be hosting a dinner and auction benefit on Saturday, August 27, at 7 p.m. in the Church Street Cultural Arts Centre.

“The auction and dinner kicks off our season and is our annual fundraising event of the year. This year will be our 40th anniversary, and our theme this season is entitled ‘Treasure the Beauty of Dance.’ This year’s auction theme is called ‘Treasures,’ and we have many treasures to auction off. This is always such a fun event, and we look forward to welcoming our guests into our studios,” said Andalusia Ballet Artistic Director Meryane Murphy.

“The Ballet strives to enrich the community with our focus on excellence in the performances we present and the year-round training programs, educational outreach projects, and scholarship opportunities we offer. The Ballet is proud of its partnership with the City of Andalusia with the renovation of the old Church Street School into the beautiful Church Street Cultural Arts Centre where we make our home. We are grateful for the support of our community and are excited to celebrate our 40th anniversary both by looking back through the years and also planning for an exciting future.”

Tickets are being sold for $50 per person and may be purchased at the Ballet, by visiting www.andalusiaballet.com and clicking the Donate button, or calling the Ballet.

“Our auction chairperson Gina Kerr and her committee have all been working hard and are grateful for all the businesses and individuals who have contributed items to our event. Jason Sasser is our wonderful auctioneer, and in keeping with the name of our event, senior company dancers will be performing to ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ choreographed by Sydney Gerhart,” she said.
