Linda Woodham Ward, cherished mother and grandmother, gracefully passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at the age of 78.

Linda Woodham Ward

Linda Faye Woodham was born on Sept. 23, 1944, in Hartford, Alabama to Cuthbert and Gaynell Woodham. Linda graduated from her beloved Geneva High School in 1962, where she was a majorette and class favorite. Linda married James (Jim) Edward Czap on Sept. 16, 1965. Together, they raised two children, Lisa Maria and James Edward (Jimmy) Czap, Jr. After moving to Andalusia in 1977, Linda worked for more than 20 years in the Social Security Administration. Linda lovingly married William (Bill) Albaugh Ward on May 16, 2004.

Linda’s faith was evident in all aspects of her life. She was a joyful presence with her colorful clothes, beautiful hair, quick wit, and compassionate spirit. She immediately lit up any room she entered and made a positive impact on so many people. She loved her friends and family and filled her home with warmth and kindness. On many Thursdays, Linda could be found with some of her favorite ladies at David’s Catfish playing bridge. She was a lover of the Florida beaches and the north Georgia mountains. Her love for music kept her home full of tunes that will remind her children and grandchildren of her for the years to come. This family and her role as a mother and grandmother was the most important thing to Linda. This is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. Being with her family is what she loved most of all.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Cuthbert and Gaynell, her brother, John, and her husband, Bill. She is survived by her two children, Lisa Wilson (Dave) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jimmy Czap (Carol), of Nolensville, Tennessee. She was also the proud Nana of her grandchildren, Sarah Woodham Worthington, Laura Nicholls Worthington, and Everett James Czap. She is also survived by her dear friend Bob Theus of Andalusia.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Foreman-Brown Funeral Home in Andalusia. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Sept. 30, at the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia at 2 p.m. with visitation at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Flowers or donations may be sent in memory to First United Methodist Church at 403 E. Three Notch St., Andalusia, AL 36420.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to hospice nurses Gina, Leann, and JoAnna for their compassionate care of Linda.
