The First United Methodist Church of Andalusia is holding a scarecrow contest in conjunction with the return of its pumpkin patch throughout the month of October.

“We are excited about our pumpkin patch returning for 2022 and are happy about the addition of a new scarecrow contest. Our pumpkin patch is a community effort, and we hope it will continue to grow each year,” said FUMC Youth Leader Heather Sabey.

The deadline for entering scarecrows in this year’s contest was Monday. The community began judging the scarecrow contest by voting through Oct. 11. Ribbons will be announced and awarded Wednesday, Oct. 12 to all winners.

The Pumpkin Patch will be open daily through Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All funds raised will be used for the church’s youth group and local mission projects.
