Drusilla S. Feachen, age 97, of Andalusia passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.

Funeral services for Ms. Feachen will be Saturday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m., at Foreman Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Stewart officiating and interment will follow at Stone Lake Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the start of service.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Cloy David and Gayla Rae Feachen of Grapevine, Texas; five grandchildren: Chris Carroll of Orlando, Valerie Feachen of Houston, Brittany Dierker of Dallas, Brooke Walker of Austin, Texas, and Chelsea Feachen of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; seven great-grandchildren: Julie-Anne Carroll, Max Carroll, Ben Carroll, Eva Carroll, Sam Carroll, Theodore Walker, and Martha Walker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cloy Stricklin and Maxine Eiland Stricklin; husband, Frank Feachen; daughter, Frankie Mae Newton; sister, Vivian (Pat) Bowen; and brothers Joe and Mabrey Stricklin.

Born in Bullock Community, roughly 30 miles north of Andalusia, Drusilla spent most of her 97 years in the Andalusia area living, working, raising her family, serving, and enjoying the company of others.

A graduate of Andalusia High School (Class of 1943), she met and married the first and only love of her life, a handsome young U.S. Airman Frank Feachen, while he was serving at Eglin Airforce Base down in Crestview, Florida in the war effort – WWII.

After their marriage and the war, Drusilla and Frank moved around some – Crestview, Martins Ferry, Ohio, to try living around Frank’s kinfolk, which did not work out so well for a Southern girl, back to Collins, Mississippi for Frank to try the sawmill business and where Cloy David was born. They permanently settled in Andalusia in 1953 and from there proceeded to raise their children. Drusilla worked at the Alatex shirt factory from 1955 to 1960 and then at the Pecan Plant on the old Bypass now Dr. Martin Luther King Expressway from 1960 to 1990.

Drusilla was always active in church activities at West Highland Baptist Church where she worshiped, taught Sunday school classes, led the Woman’s Missionary Union, and sang in the choir.

Always an outdoors person and hard worker, Drusilla loved keeping up her yard especially tending her garden making sure it was green and colorful year-round.

She also loved the beach and starting in 1985 through the 1990s, Drusilla and Frank would spend the Fourth of July week with their son, David, daughter-in-law, Gayla, and granddaughters Valerie, Brittany, Brooke, and Chelsea down the road at Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Ah, those were glorious times and she loved them immensely!

An avid card player, she excelled at bridge actively playing up to her death.

Flowers will be accepted. The family has requested any memorials be given to the West Highland Baptist or a charity of choice.
