LBW Community College will host the 2023 South District Competition at the MacArthur Campus in Opp, Alabama on February 17.

Over 250 high school students from the south district will compete head-to-head against Alabama SkillsUSA members for the chance to advance to the State Leadership and Skills Conference.

“This is a great recruitment opportunity for the College, and we are excited to have staff, faculty, advisory members, family, friends, and the community involved with this big event at LBW,” said Cosmetology Instructor and SkillsUSA coordinator, Denise Sauls.

Competition registration and resources can be found by visiting https://alskillsusa.org/conferences/south-district/.

Contests in the field of welding, barbering, emergency response, robotics, computer programming, and many more are scheduled to start at 9 a.m.

“Special thanks to our planning committee for all of their hard work in preparation and to Andalusia Distributing Company (ADC) for their generous donation of products for the contestants,” Sauls added.
