The Opp Chamber of Commerce is now seeking sponsors for snake races at the annual Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo scheduled for Friday, March 24, through Sunday, March 26.

Snake races are held each year at this widely popular event, and local businesses and organizations are requested to sponsor and name a snake for $30. There are 30 sponsors available that will be broken up into three heats with 10 snakes each.

“The time for the annual Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo is right around the corner, and a favorite event held each year at our rodeo is the snake race. We are hoping you or your business will decide to get in on the excitement this year by sponsoring a snake for the event. We would be highly honored to have you or your business sponsor a snake this year. Your sponsorship would be a means of extending financial support to your local chamber,” said Executive Administrator Kelly Brandin.

The winning snake earns a business or organization the snake plaque with their name in addition to the snake’s name recognized on the plaque. This plaque, which rotates annually, will be available to display by the winner until March of 2024.
