Mr. Robert Harper “Booster” Foshee Jr., age 94, of Red Level passed away at his residence on Monday, Feb. 27.

Funeral services for Mr. Foshee will be held Friday, March 3, 11 a.m., at Foreman Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Aaron and Rev. Diane Everette officiating. Interment will be at Long Branch Cemetery in Cohassett.

Mr. Foshee is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lindel Moon Foshee of Red Level; two sons, Robert H. Foshee III (Belinda) of Red Level, and Lewis Moon Foshee (Laurie) of Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren, Robert H. (Rob) Foshee IV, David J. Foshee, Kaitlin Elizabeth Foshee, and Preston Lewis Foshee; one sister, Imogene F. Dillon of Montgomery; two sisters-in-law; Becky Rodgers (Morgan) and Patsy Moon.

Born and raised in Covington County, “Booster” as he was known, attended and graduated from Red Level High School. He was too young to join the army during WWII, so he enrolled in Marion Military Institute. After Marion, he attended Auburn University and graduated with a degree in agricultural banking. Upon his graduation, he went to work at the Monroe County Bank in Monroeville. He was then drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Sergeant First Class in the combat engineers division. While in the army, he received the Bronze Star for bravery.

After the war, Booster came back to Red Level. He began to work at Peoples Bank of Red Level after the death of his father. He worked at the bank and served as president until his retirement in 2000. In 2001, he was honored by the Alabama Bankers Association for 50 years of outstanding service in the Alabama Commercial Banking Industry. He continued his service to the bank as Chairman of the Board until 2022. He was a faithful member of Red Level Methodist Church. During his spare time, he loved to work on his forestland and take care of his cows. His work on the forestland resulted in the land being designated as an Alabama Treasure Forest.

Pallbearers will be Bob Bellows, Tom Clem, Andrew Crawford Dillon III, Tim Easterling, Frank O’Neil, Brad Reidenauer, Larry Rodgers, Lenn Ryals, and Paul Sanders.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2 starting at 5:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
