Chaplain Clyde M. Northrop, III, U. S. Army Retired, 86, of Andalusia passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in a local nursing facility.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 6, 2 p.m., at Salem Baptist Church with Brothers Barry Wilkinson and Terry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the U.S. Army. Visitation will be Sunday, March 5, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Mr. Clyde is survived by his wife, Patricia Northrop of Andalusia; two daughters, Lyn Northrop Greene (Gene) of Columbia, South Carolina and Sharon Northrop Chickosky (Al) of Panama City Beach, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Dawn Northrop; five grandchildren, Brooke Serrano (Nunu), Elizabeth Smith (Philip), Cassandra Slevin (Dustin), Joshua Northrop (Sharon), Hunter Price, Beth Bedsole (Tra); nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Kenneth Northrop (Sara Ann) of Florence, Alabama; one sister, Susan McMath (Joe) of Andalusia; sister-in-law, Pat Northrop of Opp; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family. Brother Northrop is preceded in death by a son, Clyde M. “Mac” Northrop IV; his parents, Clyde M Northrop Jr. and Inez Gunter Northrop; and a brother, Thomas Northrop.
