A homemaker and fisherwoman for most of her life, Ms. Walker was known to all as “Mom,” “MeMaw,” or “Grandma” and was never known to raise her voice. An avid lover of soap operas, she also never met a Harlequin romance novel she didn’t like. When her eyesight began to fail, she discovered true crime, “Criminal Minds,” and “Investigation Discovery.” She prided herself on figuring out “who done it” before all was made clear at the end of the show.

In January 2016, she accepted the Lord as her Savior, and we know it was a celebration in Heaven the moment she made it Home to that mansion on the Hill. She was welcomed by her late husband, James Brice Walker; parents, Elgie and Nellie Elisie Rhudy; her late brothers and sisters, Charles Rhudy, Madean Coppock, Mary Lou Hollingsworth, Odean Parker, Coy Rhudy, and Shirley Carpenter; son, Jerry Walker; and grandchildren, James Ronald Walker, Amanda Walker, and Logan Melvin.

She is survived by her brother, Roy Rhudy; youngest sister, Elisie May (Larry) Romine; her children, Dianne (the late Tiger) LeMaire of Florala, Ronnie (Michelle) Walker of Elberta, Alabama, Gene Walker of Elberta, Tony Walker of Lake Mary, Florida, Carol (Mark) Heaton of Elberta, Robert “Bobby” Melvin of Gantt, and Thomas “Tommy” (Sherry) Melvin of Loango; grandchildren, Stephanie (Wesley) Snodgrass of Florala, Michael (Shawna) LeMaire of Lovelady, Texas, Ashley (Lucas) Parks of Lake Mary, Florida, Cathy Walker, Christiana Walker, Danielle Walker, and Robert Walker, all of Elberta, Mason Walker of Louisiana, Jerry Lee “JJ” Walker, Cheyenne (Santana) Guerrola, and Stormy Walker, all of Dallas, Texas, Tony “T.J.” Walker Jr. of Lake Mary, Florida, Marcus Heaton and Saige Heaton of Elberta, Chase Melvin of Elberta, and Andrew Melvin and Mary Heaton of Red Level.
