The Andalusia Kiwanis Club will host an abundance of family and children’s activities this weekend at the third annual All Sports Expo.

This year’s All Sports Expo brings back several favorites from the past two years as well as a few new ones. Among the returning activities are skeet shooting, archery, corn hole, casting for kids, and axe throwing. New is the “Gel Blaster,” an event similar to paintball, bull riding, and practice steer roping. If weather conditions are favorable, families can also ride in a hot air balloon. Carnival rides and vendors will be on hand.

A special exhibit will feature Auburn University’s Southeastern Raptor Center with eagles, falcons, and owls. Among the raptors will be “Spirit,” an eagle that flew at Jordan Hare Stadium for many years, but is now retired. These birds will be available to be viewed and learned about during informational programs.

There will also be a petting zoo, horseback riding, classic cars on display and a hula hoop contest.

The events for the Kiwanis Club’s All Sports Expo will take place both inside and outside the Kiwanis Center in Andalusia. Tickets are available at the gate and are $15 for those 12 and over, and $5 for children under 12. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All profits from the event — as well as from the Kiwanis Club’s annual county fair and Christmas light show — are donated to programs aimed at improving the lives of children.

In addition to the activities featured at the All Sports Expo, there are also two 2X Monster Truck shows, one at 1 p.m. and another at 7 p.m. in the Covington Center Arena. Tickets for the truck show are sold separately and are available online.
