The Splash Pad at Johnson Park will open this Saturday, March 25, just in time for Spring Break.

The popular attraction will remain open through next weekend and resume regular hours for the summer, closing on Mondays for maintenance.

The City of Andalusia celebrated the opening of the splash pad in the summer of 2021. The splash pad became a reality through the efforts of the City of Andalusia and a group of other partners that included the Covington County Commission, the Solon and Martha Dixon Foundation, the Estep Foundation, the Andalusia Rotary Club Foundation, and the Pilot Club of Andalusia, which, according to Mayor Earl Johnson, was the first group to volunteer to begin raising funds for the project.

The splash pad is approximately 4,500 square feet and includes restrooms and changing areas. There are also shade structures.

Located at the entrance of Johnson Park, the splash pad is appropriate for younger and elementary-aged children.

Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
