Gerald Allison Mitchell of Andalusia passed away on April 4, 2023. He was a loving husband to his wife, Gayle Mitchell, for over 60 years. He has four children who will miss him greatly: Brook Mitchell, Allison Goodson (Howie), Jenna Hall (Harry), and Hayden Bell (Fletcher).

He found great pride in a job well done and always gave 100 percent when his name was attached to it. He spent over 50 years traveling in the food brokerage business, spending the last years before retirement with Southern Food Brokers.

Gerald, a lifelong resident of Covington County, enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life like helping serve with the Love Thy Neighbor Ministry at church, as well as serving as a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee, planting a garden and sharing with others, fishing with friends, watching a good football game, but mostly spending time with his family.

His funeral arrangements are Friday, April 7, with visitation at 10 a.m. and the funeral following at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Andalusia with the Reverend Dr. Tim Trent officiating. Burial will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Love Thy Neighbor Ministry, First Presbyterian Church, at 223 South Three Notch Street, Andalusia, AL 36420.
