The Alabama Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 331, south of Opp, will begin soon.

Signs are being placed this week in preparation for the resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 331 from Randell Road to the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and on Florala Highway from U.S. Highway 84 to the end of the four-lane section.

Lane closures and reduced speed limits are expected throughout the project and motorists should plan accordingly and to be mindful of the people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $1.6 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to last two to three months once it begins.
